Diesel particulate filter (DPF) removal and DPF file removal.

The Dpf removal service that we offer to vehicle owners, who wish to remove their diesel particulate filter (DPF), can save hundreds of euros. With average prices for a replacement DPF at around €1000, people are often looking for an alternative solution. The removal service includes the physical removal of the particle filter and dpf file removal from the ECU. This file must be removed to prevent the car from going into regeneration or limp mode. Once complete the car will perform to a much higher standard and will have absolutely no problem passing any NCT or other emission based tests. DPF Cleaning (Drop down item 1) 

Keeping your Diesel Particulate Filter or DPF Filter clean is becoming one of the most vital tasks when running a modern diesel vehicle. The main reason for early failure of the filter is due to the car only getting short runs and never getting the exhaust temperature high enough to fully regenerate the filter.

The most important things to do are:

Use good quality fuel.
Replace your diesel filter at recommend intervals.
Keep your oil changed and monitor for rising oil level.
Use a fuel treatment at least once a month.
Make sure your car gets a good run on the open road at least once a week.
If your car indicates it is doing a regeneration don’t stop the car until it is complete
We recommend you have your DPF Filter professionally cleaned every 50,000 kilo meters before you run into problems with it completely blocking.  We can provide this service using tried and tested methods which will remove all the excess soot from the filter that your vehicle has been unable to remove through its own regeneration process.

All these steps will help to extend the life of your DPF filter but they do have a usable lifespan upon which cleaning and regeneration will no longer work and they will eventual clog with soot and cause a reduction in power and put your car into a limp home mode.

DPF Cleaning Service.

Our service which takes on average 1 hour to complete will reduce the level of soot content in your exhaust system by a minimum of 70%. This will enable your car to start normal regeneration processes and reduce the soot content further.

Passive DPF Regeneration
Passive dpf regeneration takes place in your DPF filter automatically on motorway runs when the exhaust temperature reaches a high enough level. Most modern vehicles especially in cites fail to meet these conditions and so manufacturers had to design-in ‘active’ regeneration which is controlled by the vehicles ECU.

Active DPF Regeneration
Active dpf regeneration takes place when the soot loading in the filter exceeds a pre-set limit usually 45%. The vehicles ECU will inject extra diesel into the engine to raise the exhaust temperature and burn off the excess soot. If you stop the vehicle while this is in process the regeneration will fail and the extra diesel will drain into the sump contaminating your oil and causing the oil level to rise.

Forced DPF Regeneration
If the dpf regeneration is unsuccessful and you continue to drive your vehicle and the soot level rises above 75% you will see your DPF light come on your dash and you may experience reduced power as your vehicle goes in to limp mode. you can bring your vehicle to our workshop were we will perform a forced regeneration under correct operating conditions to allow the regeneration to complete a full cycle and clean the soot from your DPF filter we may also need to change your oil.

What does the Service involve?
The DPF removal service that we offer across all makes and models of vehicle includes the physical removal of the internal filter, the remapping of your vehicles ECU to disable the DPF Functions. We do this in such a way that it is not easy to notice that there has been any work carried out.

Step 1.

We do a complete on-board diagnostics test on your car to verify what faults and issues you are having with your vehicle.

Step 2.

We reset your ECU clearing all the faults.

Step 3.

We take a copy of all the information from your vehicles ECU.

Step 4.

We remove the DPF filter from your car and cut a small opening and remove the internal filter. We then weld it back together and replace the unblocked filter to your car.

Step 5.

We then program the new data on to your vehicles ECU. This will stop the vehicle trying to regenerate and putting fault lights up on your dash.

Step 6.

We then test drive your vehicle to make sure everything is working as it should.

Step 7.

Finally we will do a last diagnostic test to make sure everything is correct and that there are no pending faults on your vehicle.


This service is very successful across all makes and models of vehicles. We charge €395 for this service and it takes 2 hours to complete at our garage. DPF Replacement: (Drop down item 4) DPF Replacement Filters:

We give our customers the option of replacing their DPF filter if cleaning the filter or regenerating it do not work.
